GUIDE · SIZES
Size conversion: UK, EU, US.
The chart for women, men and children, plus why the label still counts.
In short
According to size.ly’s conversion chart, a women’s UK 8 is EU 36 and US 4, and each step up adds two. eBay’s UK size chart agrees on the EU size but puts the US size one step higher. UK children’s sizes go by age, EU sizes by height in centimetres. Because brands differ, every listing needs the size from the label and ideally the measurements.
- UK 8 = EU 36 = US 4
- Children: UK by age, EU by cm
- The label counts

| M | 38 | 48 |

From size.ly’s conversion chart (last updated June 2026). Trousers convert differently: UK and US trousers use the waist in inches, and a 34 waist is EU 50.
How do children’s sizes work?
In the UK, children’s sizes go by the child’s age, while in Europe the size is the child’s height in centimetres. According to size.ly’s chart, UK age 2–3 corresponds to EU 92–98 and age 3–4 to EU 98–104; EU sizes go up in steps of 6 cm. If the label shows both the age and the height in cm, put both in the listing.
